If you are leaving secondary school, the NDIS can offer specialised support to help you get into the workforce.

Our team are trained and aware of the local jobs market and will work with you to open up as many opportunities as possible, giving you choices and access to varying supports, including life and work coaches, private recruitment specialists, career counsellors and employment mentors who are sole traders, self-employed or independent.

We will support you to find work by:

  • Identifying your talents, skills, goals and aspirations
  • Developing a career plan
  • Assisting you with writing a resume and cover letter
  • Building essential foundation skills for work, including confidence and communication skills
  • Improving interview skills

Finding and Keeping a Job

Looking for work, but need some help?
What is the Finding and Keeping a Job plan?

This is a specific funding available to eligible NDIS Participants who are interested in entering the workforce. Our NDIS Career Coaches can work with you either one-on-one or through group work, focusing on capacity building aimed at creating pathways that will help you to get into the workforce and build independence through your career. We will help find work experiences, on-the-job training and support you through key skill developments.

If one of your goals is to find a job or change your career path, this funding can unlock many avenues to achieving that goal. Ask us about the possibility of attending a job trial with an approved business that could lead to paid employment.

Industry Experienced Career Coaches

Our experienced Career Coaches can access other supports and resources outside of the NDIS that can help you find employment. From Disability Employment Services to State Government programs, Social Enterprises and volunteering, there are many pathways you can take to get into the workforce and find the right job for you.

In addition to helping you find a job, NDIS Finding and Keeping a Job funding can also support you while you are at work.

We are here to help you find an achievable and sustainable pathway suited to you.

We're here to help! Download our flyer, or reach out through our online form for more information.

NDIS Improved Learning

Designed to help you further your education, achieve a qualification, or to learn a new skill.
What is the Improved Learning program?

In the Capacity Building category there’s a budget called 'Improved Learning'. If one of the goals in your NDIS Plan is to get a certain job and you need to take a course to help you get there, you may obtain funding in your Improved Learning budget.

Whether you’re about to complete high school or want to do some study to help you get a job, the NDIS may be able to help. Furthering your education can open exciting employment opportunities and build confidence.

What learning-related supports can the NDIS fund?

Working through applications, understanding timetables, and creating student budgets can be overwhelming for anyone, so the Improved Learning category is designed to support you on your pathway to further education.

The supports in this category can assist you with:

  • Course applications
  • Support through orientation
  • Managing and planning your study workload
  • Student budgeting
  • Specialised transport (if required because of a disability)
  • Setting up student accommodation/living arrangements
  • Transitioning from high school to further education

If Improved Learning opportunities are your goal, download our flyer, or reach out through our online form for more information.
