Career Transition Assistance

Practical Assistance & Training

The Workforce Australia - Career Transition Assistance (CTA) program is designed for mature age Participants, aged 45 years and over. It provides practical assistance and training to increase employability and competitiveness in local job markets.

Designer Life has been selected to deliver the CTA program as a Workforce Australia provider, offering an intensive course scheduled for a minimum of 75 hours and runs for up to eight weeks. Our CTA program will provide targeted support for mature age Participants to increase their confidence in the skills and experience they already have, as well as increase their motivation and resilience to continue looking for work.

Creating Opportunities

The CTA program assists in helping Participants increase their understanding of the opportunities available in their local addition, market and facilitates direct engagement with local Employers, giving Participants the opportunity to explore different occupations and industries through Employer visits. Designer Life supports Participants in tailoring their job applications to industries and Employers and will develop Participants’ basic ICT skills by providing core digital proficiency capabilities required both to apply for, and to work in a variety of workplaces.

CTA requires Participants to prepare a tailored Career Pathway Plan, which outlines the steps they will need to take to pursue employment opportunities based on their transferable skills, the local labour market, and their career goals. In addition, they will explore their career options, including identifying further training or education to achieve their Career Pathway Plan objectives.

The program is delivered in a supportive group environment that supports Participants in establishing networks with other Participants. In addition, CTA Participants will be linked directly to employment opportunities through arranged placements with local employers.
