Designer Life offers you a unique experience during the 8-week Career Transition Assistance (CTA) program. Delivered in our Career Centres by experienced Facilitators, our aim is to not only update your knowledge around searching for work, but also to boost your confidence as you discover exciting career opportunities.

Your Facilitator will support you to update your resume, gain effective job searching strategies, and discover how your individual skill sets could align with local job opportunities.

We’re excited to announce that Designer Life has expanded our Career Transition Assistance (CTA) program with a new Hybrid Delivery option!

Our Hybrid course allows participants to choose how they want to attend—either in person or online, providing greater flexibility and accessibility for individuals aged 45 and above. This innovative approach ensures that participants can receive the same high-quality coaching and digital literacy training, whether they prefer face-to-face interaction or the convenience of online learning.

  • Flexible Participation: Attend sessions either in person or online, based on your personal needs and circumstances.
  • Personalised Support: Benefit from tailored coaching to boost your confidence, refine your job search skills, and understand local labour market trends.
  • Prerequisites: For online participation, participants must have access to an internet connection and a device capable of accessing Zoom.

What you'll learn

Your Designer Life CTA Facilitator will support you to:

  • Improve digital literacy skills and your confidence with desktop computers, tablets and smart phones
  • Confidently apply for jobs online
  • Job Search Strategies: Explore different methods to find job opportunities, including online job boards and networking
  • Use standard technology found in different workplaces
  • Explore your career goals and motivations
  • Identify your existing skills and how they can transfer to other jobs or industries
  • Better understand the job opportunities in your local area, and the skills you might need for these jobs
  • Update and tailor your job applications to apply for a range of appropriate jobs

Your plan to succeed!

We're here to help you discover new job options and to connect with local employers. You will even get some insider tips on different jobs and industries during our organised employer visits.

Throughout the program, you will receive assistance in creating your personalised Career Pathway Plan. This plan will detail the necessary steps for pursuing employment, considering your transferable skills, the local job market, and your career goals. Our Facilitators will provide guidance as you explore alternative career paths, including any training or education needed to achieve your objectives.

Career Centre Facilities

Designer Life provides digital equipment for participants to use during classes to help them develop computer skills and build confidence. Participants will use laptops with editing software for resume and cover letter writing, along with free Wi-Fi for job searching and submitting online applications.

Want to learn more?

To join the CTA program you must be aged 45 years or over and be registered with Workforce Australia Services. Ask your provider for a referral, or if you are a WFA Online participant, you can refer yourself online.
