Employability Skills Training

Developing Your Employability Skills

Workforce Australia - Employability Skills Training (EST) is a program designed to assist Participants in exploring their career options, to help build job search and workplace skills, and enhance their readiness for work. EST courses are available for ages 15 to 24 years, and also for Participants aged 25 years and over, with a specific focus on developing employability skills aligned with job opportunities in the local labour market. Some courses also focus on specific industries, where partnerships with Employers provide job opportunities in local areas.

EST is offered in two types of courses: Block One and Block Two. Designer Life has been selected to deliver both EST Block programs, which means Participants may choose to attend one or both Blocks of EST.

EST Block One

EST Block One programs focus on building relevant, in demand employability skills that will improve the Participant’s chances of gaining employment. Our Career Coaches work with Participants to develop their resumes, improve communication, prepare for interviews and build problem solving skills. Additional industry awareness activities also allow Participants to meet with Employers from different industries and ask questions about various workplaces.

EST Block Two

EST Block Two programs are designed in partnership with Employers to provide relevant skills and knowledge to Participants and include industry awareness activities that are designed to enhance their readiness for work. Through pre-employment training, hands-on group activities, and work placement opportunities, Participants will learn practical skills to assist them in entering the workforce.
